Sue, Eileen, Nancy, and Gerard
Chipura,
and Gina DeFalco ~ There are no words that we can say to you about the loss
of your brother to ease the pain, especially with what John and his second
family when through almost 19 years ago. As with the miracle of life with the
birth of Gerard and his wife’s new son shows us all that life is special. Nancy,
please know one thing, God has planned something very special for you to do.
Your courage and inner strength has helped me with my fears to understand that
this film will get completed, that I too have been blessed to do something
special as he will with you in the future. God Bless you all! Charles A. Light, Jr., Detachment Commander, Embassy Guards, American Embassy Beirut, Lebanon, 1983 ~ Charles, thank you for giving me the insight of what I saw from the air that day in April. You are a Marine’s Marine!
Robert Greenberg, G&G Technologies, Inc., ~ A helping hand.
Luretta Undercuffler and family ~ For sharing your
hearts with us in your story of your son, George L. Dramis.
Jim Herbst ~ At the time, Jim was the Leading
Petty Officer of Sick Bay (Medical Department) onboard the USS Iwo Jima. Jim
and this group of doctors and Corpsmen received the wounded from the barracks
bombing on October 23, 1983. I now know why Marines say a Corpsman is worth
their weight in gold. Thank you for reaching into your soul and sharing with me
that dark day in October, the story of the true professionalism of the doctors,
the Corpsmen, and the whole ships’ crew that day, when all the training paid
off. I know when sons, daughters, wives, and mothers of lost loved ones see your
interview in this documentary, they will have more peace of mind knowing their
loved ones were in good hands. Thank you and all the fine men of the USS Iwo
Jima for you folks and many ashore are the unsung heroes of this tragic event in
our history. Ed Lamica |
