| TO ALL BEIRUT VETERANS, CIVILIANS, AND FAMILIES... |
My name is Ed Lamica. I was the lead photographer onboard the USS GUADALCANAL (LPH-7) on the Marine Amphibious Ready Group off the coast of Beirut from February 7th until June 7th, 1983. After attending the Annual Memorial Service at the Beirut Memorial located in Jacksonville, N.C., on October 23rd, 2001 and after some serious soul-searching, I made a decision to create a documentary on the events from 1982-84 in Beirut. I think it is important that all Americans see and hear the stories via a film showing the remarkable spirit “The Human Side” that lives in these men and women today and has for the past 18 years. |

I extend an invitation to civilians, veterans, survivors, and family members to take part in this film. I will not intrude on the privacy of those who do not wish to be part of this documentary. For this reason, I will not write or contact any one personally about taking part in this project. |
My hope is that through word-of-mouth, you will have found this Web site and continue to visit to see how we are doing on the project and hope that you join us. This is not a company ~ just one Beirut veteran wanting to tell a remarkable story to his fellow Americans. Without you there is no story. I’m asking you to be a part of this wonderful project. This is an untold story that should be relayed and remembered by all. Please write, call, or email me about being part of this project, “The Human Side.” |
