A Peacekeeper's Dream

To the young people of Lebanon both Christians and Muslims you have a chance to make the pen mightier than the sword and stop any blood shed or civil war in your country. Follow in the foot-steps of Muhammad and Jesus as their teaching have been given to you.

As a great leader in my country once told the world, we come into this world the same way, we use the same resources, we breathe the same air and we leave this world the same way. If we do not find  a way to live together and solve our differences then we will destroy ourselves.

I was in your country during a dark time in your history when your fellow citizens tried to do just that destroy each other. 23 years later have we not learned it did not work then and will not work now. This is why I'm appealing to you the young of Lebanon both Muslims and Christians to make the pen mightier than the sword and return Lebanon to the place of beauty it once was and is now.

I believe and others believe we have a stake in your country because of the blood that was shed by our friends to give you a chance to have and find peace. I was a peacekeeper in your country in 1983 and fell in love with your country and you as a people.

I hope someday to return to Lebanon as a friend and share with you young Lebanese the beauty of this beautiful place called Lebanon. Please make the pen mightier than the sword. Find peace for Lebanon. You have the power to make it happen.
